Getting started with Communicator

Communicator is a powerful tool in your Membership database that can provide you with the capacity to quickly and efficiently reach your members. It can be used for a variety of purposes so we've outlined briefly below 5 key functions of Communicator that should help you to get up and running and communicating!


1. Send an email

Communicator will allow you to send out a quick and effective email to any particular member or member group in your database. The emails are free of charge and can be sent whenever you need to communicate with your members. To send out attachments with your emails, simply upload the file to your website first and include a link to it in your email.

2. Send an SMS

Communicator also provides you the ability to send out SMS to members directly from your database. There is a small cost for each SMS, for more information on this click here.

You will first need to set up a SMS Sender account. Click here for more information.


3. Send Member Renewal emails

Member Renewal emails are a powerful tool that will provide the ability to send renewal emails reminding members from previous seasons to register for the new season. The email will contain a link to a specified registration form and will automatically take the member straight into the form with their username and password. It is a really effective way of automating a process that can be particularly lengthy and time consuming.

4. Send Team Renewal emails

Very similar to Member Renewals, Team Renewal emails contain a reminder for team managers/contacts from previous seasons to register their team into the new season. The email will also contain a link to a specified registration form and will automatically take the team manager/contact straight into the form with the team username and password.

5. Send a message from a Saved report

Sending out an email or SMS through a Saved report will allow your message to be sent to any member contained within your report. In other words, if you run a report to show all members who have yet to pay their registration fees for the current season, then save the report, you can go through Communicator to compose a specific message to those members to encourage them to pay. It is a really good way of targeting and communicating with particular members of your database.
